How do addresses in Vietnam work?
If you are sending a package to Vietnam, you may write the address in English or request the Vietnamese version from the recipient. Generally, the house number is written first, followed by the lane number, street name, district, and city.
Here are some useful terms for addressing mail:
Quận/ Huyện: District
Phố: Street
Đường: Road
_ngõ_: Lane
_ngách_: Smaller than lane unit
Số: House number
Khu đô thị: Apartment complex
Example of an address:
Chu Ngoc H.
So 4, ngo 12, pho H.H, Dong Da, Hanoi.
Note: As of 2025, Vietnam has implemented a postal code system. The postal codes are essential for ensuring accurate and timely deliveries.
